The Sheldon Young Art Circle offers young professionals the opportunity to experience art, meet interesting people, and connect with Sheldon Museum of Art in a new way. Members will be invited to an exclusive program of creative and engaging events throughout the year. Enjoy stimulating conversations, exhibition tours, and private collection viewings with other art-interested people.

Save the date for Young Art Circle events in 2010:

  • January 21, 5:30-7pm - Menage a Trois Above "O" Street: Three galleries/Three perspectives

    Walk through three of the galleries at the hip new art space on 14th and O in downtown Lincoln. Sip on some wine and engage with thought-provoking questions about what you see. Young Art Circle members are invited to bring guests free of charge. Bring a friend... or two! RSVP to jcantrell2@unl.edu or 402-472-1454.

  • February 13, 5-7pm - Art & Bubbly

    Enjoy a champagne tasting with sweet treats to compliment. Sheldon is the perfect location for romantic notions.

  • March 12 - Should Your Art Match Your Couch?

    Kiechel Fine Art will host a discussion about how to begin collecting art for your home or as an investment.

  • April 9 - Women Artists in the Sheldon Collection

    While women comprise half the population, only one-twelfth of the works in Sheldon’s collection are by women artists. The Museum’s yearlong focus on women artists is an opportunity to become better acquainted with these accomplished artists.

  • May 7 - First Friday Gallery Hop

    Tour Sheldon’s exhibitions and enjoy a glass of wine. Then gallery hop with the group through galleries in the Haymarket, ending at Bread & Cup to eat, drink, and converse.

  • June 17 - Picnic on the Green

    It’s picnic time on the green outside Sheldon and to listen to the Cuban-inspired sounds of classical music at the Meadowlark Music Festival.
