Latino Bike Tour with El Centro de las Americas

Date(s):  August 31, 2010

Time(s):  7:00 PM to 9:00 PM

The Sheldon Museum of Art will become a destination for weekly bike rides sponsored by El Centro de las Americas. This program was developed to provide educational opportunities for members of the Latino community about the benefits of a healthy lifestyle through bike riding and to help them become more familiar with Lincoln.

The group will meet at El Centro de las Americas at 6 p.m. and arrive at Sheldon for a 7 p.m. viewing of the films Cuba: Illogical Temple and La Solidaridad in the Sheldon auditorium. Commentary by filmmakers will also be featured.

Additional rides to Sheldon throughout the summer and fall will provide participants tours of the sculpture garden, the permanent collection and special exhibitions. Those interested in participating in the rides should contact Brent Meier, Health and Technology Program Coordinator, El Centro de las Americas, at 402-474-3950, or email him at brentmeier@gmail.com.
